Frequent Questions:
-
How long does it take to install?
Installation should take no longer than 2hours maximum. - WSP
-
How does a salt water pool system work?
A salt water pool system cleans the water through electrolysis which produces chlorine. This process occurs when the salt, or sodium chloride (NaCl), dissolves in the water and separates into sodium ions and chloride ions. By passing a low voltage electrical current through the water, the sodium is removed and the chloride turns into chlorine in the form of hypochlorous acid (HClO) and sodium hypochlorite (NaClO). - WSP
-
Can you use metal handrails and ladders in a saltwater pool?
Metal handrails and ladders can corrode faster when installed in a salt pool. In particular, metals like galvanized steel don't do too well in saltwater.
The biggest problems will likely be with the anchors. Once those become corroded, it will be challenging to remove and replace any installed handrails or ladders. - WSP
Pro tip: if you want a salt system in your pool and plan to have a ladder or handrail, be sure to use brass anchors.
